Carole King's Landmark Album, 'Tapestry', #36 on Rolling Stone List - King Contributes Another Dozen Songs on Top 100 LPs

NEW YORK, NY - In this year's highly touted Special Collectors issue, Rolling Stone magazine reports on the '500 Greatest Albums of All Time' on which Carole King's Tapestry was featured at #36. Tapestry's diverse appeal is exemplified by its #1 selection by R&B legend, Solomon Burke.

In addition, a dozen King and Goffin/King compositions featured prominently on other Top 100 albums, The Beatles' Please Please Me includes Goffin & King's "Chains," the Phil Spector anthology Back To Mono includes 5 King collaborations; the critical favorite, Dusty In Memphis, includes 4 ageless King compositions; and Aretha's #84 Lady Soul includes the Goffin/King classic "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman."

Voted on by a panel of experts comprised of artists, producers, journalists and other business leaders, King is one of only 3 solo women artists in the Top 50, all of whom released their landmark albums in the '70s (the others are 1971's Blue by Joni Mitchell and 1975's Horses by Patti Smith).
