A Cause Worth Fighting For: Carole King on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON D.C. - For the past dozen years, Carole King has been lobbying Congress for the passage of the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act (HR 488). The bill garnered four additional House sponsors this week bringing the total to 152, largely through King's efforts (for a complete list of sponsors go to http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d107:HR00488:@@@P). Washington Post reporter Lloyd Grove spoke with King briefly during a lobby break and reported…"It has been taking so long because there are big corporate interests that don't want to see this legislation become law."

In November, 2011, this bill became HR 3334 and can be found here.
