'You've Got A Friend - The Carole King Story' Airs on BBC Four
The documentary film, 'You've Got A Friend - The Carole King Story' will make it's debut on BBC Four Friday, June 6, 2014 at 9 PM.
The film tells the story of Carole King's upbringing in Brooklyn and the subsequent success that she had as half of husband and wife songwriting team Goffin and King for Aldon Music.
Some wonderful unseen material and home movies will be featured in the film that chronicles Carole's life as an acclaimed singer-songwriter. To date, more than 400 of her compositions have been recorded by over 1,000 artists, resulting in 100 hit singles.
In 2012, Carole was the first woman to be awarded the prestigious Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by the Library of Congress. Currently, the Broadway production of 'Beautiful: The Carole King Musical' which tells her life story during the Goffin and King era, has garnered seven Tony nominations and received rave reviews.
