Carole King on HBO's 'Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry'

NEW YORK, NY - Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry returned to HBO for a sixth season and features a wide range of voices. From struggling urban poets to the icons of the trade, guests include celebrated actors, singers, dancers, and comedians writing and sharing poems for the first time. The 2007 season's special guests included Carole King, as well as DMX, Big Mike, Jill Scott, Talib Kweli, George Clinton and many others.

Previous programs have featured performances by special guests such as Dave Chappelle, Common, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Alicia Keyes, John Legend, Smokey Robinson, Kanye West and many others. Mos Def hosts each installment of the program.

Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry airs Friday nights at midnight. Carole King's reading (Episode 41), which was taped in New York City in October of 2006, aired on March 2.
